There were competing races/events going on. &nbsp;In fact in the same parking lot there was another 5k race, and a triathlon. &nbsp;In the general area there were several other races to chose from.&nbsp; Made a decision this morning with decent weather to do this race to get an idea of where I am fitnesswise.&nbsp; Reasonably pleased with the result and grateful to see where I am physically following the heart stent implant in December.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Small field, relatively flat course; cool but a little humid in the upper 40&#39;s to lower 50&#39;s.&nbsp; &nbsp;I was a bit cautious in the first half mile - not sure how things would feel, but it was more mental than physical.&nbsp; Three guys went out to the front, with one who looked to be in high school, running in long sweat pants, but he was legit (I think he won.)&nbsp; Once I got past the initial nerves, I moved up on the third place runner when the two front runners gapped him; I passed him just before the mile mark and stayed slightly ahead of him through 2 miles, when he came back by me early in mile 3.&nbsp; No one was close behind me, and I lost contact rather quickly, being satisfied where I was.&nbsp; Finished reasonably well for 4th place overall.&nbsp; Splits were 6:35, 6:28 and 6:46.&nbsp;</p> <p>I looked back at&nbsp;my races from last year - and this was a nearly identical time to a 5k I did in January 2018.&nbsp;
