PM - lunchtime treadmill workout:  8 x 400 @ "fast as I can go and still finish the workout" effort with a 400 rest/jog.  Ended up at a pace of about 5:20 per mile on the last few after starting out just under 6 min pace.  Find that I can tolerate much of anything for 80 to 90 seconds.   HR doesn't have time to build much past lactate threshold in that short of a period even at that pace.    Pleased with the workout.  Sort of feeling as though my leg speed/strength is making good progress in its return.

Thanks Jeff - recovery from injury requires a lot of patience and balance (just like training actually) - especially when you get up in years. I have to remind myself to be really cautious. I cannot get away with hard/risky efforts that I could when I was younger.

Seems like you are still getting in a good volume of mileage - if nothing else.
