AM - 4 miles easy this morning.  Significantly more humidity back at home in Florida - yuck. Trying to plan out the training for this week.  Will do a fast treadmill workout at lunch and then figure in a possible 5k race on Friday evening.

PM - 6 miles - treadmill actually after work as I was too busy at work to take a lunch.  2 mile warm-up then 3 x 1 mile with 2 min recovery at 1% incline.  Did them at 5:44, 5:33 and 5:32.  Felt reasonably strong throughout.  Thought about doing a 4th one, but decided it was good enough.  Interested in gauging the recovery - as the last few hard workouts I end up with a 24 hour delay in actually "feeling" it; and needing the recovery day not the day after, but the 2nd day after.

Everything seems to be going well for you Bret. Don't obsess over the mileage this week if you are going to race Friday. Think about fine tuning and being rested.

You mentioned that this was a Friday evening race. Do you have a hard time getting up for a race at night at the end of a work day? Seems to me that my "biorhythms" would be at low ebb compared to a morning race.

Thanks Rob. Took this morning off - will do easy miles later today and tomorrow. I do tend to gauge my training by the amount of mileage I log during the week. Thanks for the advice.

Friday evening races ... I have had good results sometimes and other times not. Same as morning races for me. More to do with the overall build up, prep and rest. So if I can figure out how to sleep the last few hours of my workday on Friday....
