PM - so I awoke this morning in Flagstaff at 4:20 am (still on Eastern time) and could not fall back to sleep.  The thought occured to me that I could drive the Grand Canyon (a place I have never been to see) and see the sunrise (maybe get in short run) and get back to my meeting in town by 9:30.  So I did it.  I arrived just before dawn - and walked out to the South rim.  It was really cold out and everything around was snow covered and icy - so I changed my mind about the run.  Very cool sunrise experience though.

Had a successful day in Federal court in Flagstaff - and had enough time for a run before dinner with my colleague.  Tried running from my hotel to Buffalo Park - with a hope that the snow / ice would be somehow cleared on the trails at the park.  No such luck.  Evidently the snowfall they had last week was 4 feet - and although it was in the 40's and 50's the last few days, it still has a ways to go before melting off.  I started down a trail hoping it would be packed snow, but it was mid-calf depth or worse and it looked a bit silly as I ran with my shorts in the snow.  So I bagged the effort and headed back to the hotel.  Saw a good bit of the town. Kinda liked its vibe.
